French Apricot Cream Cheese Bars Recipes
This recipe was given to me by My Sis in Law Donna Mae. When I had one I just HAD to have the recipe. They are incredibly easy and so rich and delicious.
Ingredients:
- 1 French Vanilla Cake Mix
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 egg
Filling:
- 1 12 ounce jar apricot preserves
- 1 8 ounce package cream cheese (light is ok)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoin vanilla
- 1 egg
Cooking Instructions:
- Heat oven to 350 degrees
- Spray a 9x13 pan with non stick spray.
- Combine cake mix, butter and egg.
- Mix with a fork til crumbly, gently spoon 1 1/2 cups of this crumb mixture into a small bowl to reserve for topping.
- Press remaining crumbs in bottom of prepared pan.
- Bake crust at 350 for 10 minutes.
- Let crust cool just a little, then spoon the preserves over and spread evenly.
- In a small bowl combine the cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and egg.
- Beat til smooth.
- Spread evenly over preserves.
- Sprinkle reserved topping over cream cheese.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until topping is golden brown.
- Chill before serving,
- Store in refridgerator.
