French Apricot Cream Cheese Bars Recipes

This recipe was given to me by My Sis in Law Donna Mae. When I had one I just HAD to have the recipe. They are incredibly easy and so rich and delicious.

Ingredients:


  • 1 French Vanilla Cake Mix
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 egg


Filling:

  • 1 12 ounce jar apricot preserves
  • 1 8 ounce package cream cheese (light is ok)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoin vanilla
  • 1 egg

Cooking Instructions: 


  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Spray a 9x13 pan with non stick spray.
  3. Combine cake mix, butter and egg.
  4. Mix with a fork til crumbly, gently spoon 1 1/2 cups of this crumb mixture into a small bowl to reserve for topping.
  5. Press remaining crumbs in bottom of prepared pan.
  6. Bake crust at 350 for 10 minutes.
  7. Let crust cool just a little, then spoon the preserves over and spread evenly.
  8. In a small bowl combine the cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and egg.
  9. Beat til smooth.
  10. Spread evenly over preserves.
  11. Sprinkle reserved topping over cream cheese.
  12. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until topping is golden brown.
  13. Chill before serving,
  14. Store in refridgerator.
